SWOT Analysis

Strengths:

• I have 3 Years of experience in school and outside of school productions so this will help me pass on my knowledge to others.
• I have software at home to help with composition and live sound mixing so this means that I will be able to progress faster by being able to practice outside of school.
• I can keep calm throughout the work and not get overly stressed with the things that go wrong so this means that others in the team that are nervous or stressed have trust in me.

Weaknesses:

• I am not able to read music so when working in musicals I could find this extremely difficult so this could also hold me back from putting in my full potential.
• I have a difficulty finding a way around a problem other than starting all again so this could mean that jobs take longer than intended.
• I also struggle with using other setups that I am not used to and I would like to start trying to use other setups so this will give me a variety and make me comfortable to use them in the future. 
• Another weakness that I have is that when having a set up in a concert I am not happy with using areas that I am not used to so this limits others around me from doing something that they are happy to do because as the sound engineer you must be happy as well.

Opportunities:

• An opportunity that I have had in the past is volunteering at Hertford Musical Mystery Tour. This opportunity was offered to me by ojne of the leaders on the event Jonathan Davies. He is also a live sound engineer and has helped me use small but complex set ups so this helps me progress with in this line of work.
• Another opportunity that could be useful to me would be work experience. This could be useful because it would give me the chance to go and visit working live sound engineers and pick up some experience form them so that things that I learn I can pass on to other members of the crew and tech club. 
• Another opportunity could be shows and concerts at school. for example this could be the Christmas concert or House music even house drama. This would help me practice the skills I already have and maybe adapt my skills and learning to different situations so that I become more comfortable in being a sound engineer.
• I also could speak to live sound engineers that I know to gain some experience on key terminology and other features on a sound desk so that this improves my knowledge in sound engineering and use of other desks.

Threats:

• One threat could be using speakers in school that are not new or updated. Using outdated equipment this could mean that there is a high chance of feedback or even danger of them breaking so this could mean that performances are not as good as they could be. 
• Another threat could be my weaknesses. This is because a lack of knowledge in a certain area could mean that it cause me to break an expensive item of equipment so there is a delay on a performance or cancellation  
• A third threat could be using too much technology. By using technology like speakers and computers if they where to break this could mean that the whole performance could be in jeopardy so we want to try and limit the amount of technology used
